We Use Aviation To Inspire Youth Toward Science, Math And Technology Education
Donations
The Bill Smilie Aviation Center seeks to inspire youth toward Science, Math and Technology educations by using the natural fascination that a large percentage of the population has with flying. The members of EAA 376 and all of our volunteers give of their time, resources and their passion for aviation toward this worthy objective. Our volunteers leverage your contributions in a way that stretches the value of your dollar many times.
Volunteers:
Our volunteers are passionate about aviation. They give freely of their time and enjoy helping young people wake up to their potential to achieve. We have no paid staff and minimal expenses.
Consumers:
The youth that participate in our programs find motivation for learning and achieving through their fascination with flight. The spark and fire that our volunteers have toward aviation is a catalyst that wakes up ambition and drive in many youth which can propel them toward exciting achievement in their lives. To take liberty with an old adage: Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime but inspire youth to enjoy learning and you build a thriving community.
Financial Need:
Our members have raised money over several years which enabled us to make substantial progress on building the Bill Smilie Aviation Center but we cannot complete it without your help. We own the property free and clear. We have paid many fees and expenses to get our building plan approved. We are ready to build the retaining walls. Once this facility is built we will have many more opportunities for youth to interact with pilots and aircraft. We need to raise the funds as we go forward for each phase of construction.
Donors:
We are asking you for $10 per month. Our current fund-raising target is to get 1000 people donating $10 per month. We ask that you do this if $10 is an amount that you can give without sacrifice. If you would like to give more, please do! But we genuinely are only asking for $10 per month if you would be glad to help us in that way. If you prefer to give annually then simply send $120 once a year to be part of this campaign or any variation you wish to use. You can keep up to date with our progress by subscribing to our BSAC Touch and Go e-mail notices.
Philanthropists:
We are actively appealing to potential large donors to help in our mission. If you are able to donate $1,000 to $50,000 we would be eager to meet with you and provide documentation and recognition suitable to your requirements. Together we can do amazing things for youth and our community!
Summary:
We encourage you to donate to our mission to the extent that it fulfills your pleasure. Giving is a source of pleasure to human nature as long as it is not from obligation, guilt or pressure. If you find yourself struggling to make the decision to give a certain amount, then cut that figure in half and give it with joy. You can always add to your donation later if you wish.
You can donate by mailing a check made payable to "EAA Chapter #376" with a note on the memo line for “Bill Smilie Aviation Center” or “BSAC”. We will have a paypal donation button and a FaceBook causes account available soon.
